Sanctum takes its name from the Latin for a sacred, set-apart place — echoed in the Estonian hiis, a grove, spring or stone left untouched and held sacred by a community, where the land itself carried memory and offering. The exhibition treats Raleigh Chapel the same way: 
not a backdrop, but a threshold. The works inside sit somewhere between object and offering, made to be lived with rather than simply looked at.
